The coaxial cable and capacitor attached = FINISHED ANTENNA. Quick tests with MiniVNA and my software transceiver proved that the antenna works. SWR was around 1.5 throughout the whole 80 meter band and signals just popped from the whole Europe. The tuning is quite sharp but that is an awesome aid for nulling out the intefering BC stations.

I would've understood the interest against the variable capacitor if it would haved sparked etc. but for some reason it seemed to smell good or something like that. Yeah, if you didn't notice the capacitor is right next to cat's nose.
